What is the deadline date for the school to submit artwork?

Answer: Our deadline date of 10th November guarantees that we can print cards by 1st December 2011. Upon request (in advance) we will extend this date slightly, however the return date will also extend, allow at least 2 weeks for cards.

 

How long does delivery of the cards take?

Answer: Cards ordered before 10th November will be delivered by the first week of December, if you are able to order sooner, delivery is also likely to be sooner.

 

When and how do we pay you?

Answer: We require payment with artwork. Please send a cheque for the full amount made payable to Newcombe Design Limited.

 

Do you charge for delivery?

Answer: Delivery is charged at £4.95 for very small orders only, if you are ordering 17 packs or over then delivery is free.

 

Who should parents make their cheques payable to?

Answer: Parents make the cheques payable to the school, NOT to Newcombe Design Ltd. The school collects individual parental payments and then they create one cheque payable to Newcombe Design Ltd and return with completed artwork.

 

How does the children's artwork get to Cards for Schools Etc?

Answer: The artwork from all pupils should be posted in one parcel by special delivery to Newcombe Design Ltd, Mansfield Cottage, Cranford Avenue, Exmouth, Devon EX8 2HP. Alternatively for smaller orders, where you have the ability and would like to save money, you may scan the art sheets and email over the designs with completed order form and printed list of names – we recommend a scanned image resolution of 300dpi.

 

Can a child submit more than one Christmas card design?

Answer: Yes, however only one design may be submitted per pack of 12 cards, simply fill in one sheet for each design.

 

Are there a minimum number of pupils that can participate in any one school?

Answer: Yes. There is a minimum of 10 pupils or designs per school; this small number allows even tiny schools and nurseries to participate.

 

Will we receive proof sample cards for all designs?

No, in order to provide a service for all schools and keep minimum order quantities low we do not provide proof cards. We do supply free sample cards to schools to show the quality of our product.

 

Can groups other than schools participate?

Answer: Yes.

 

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Answer: Yes. Each school must place a minimum order of 10 packs. Each pack contains 12 cards and parents can order multiple packs if they wish.

 

Do you print on the inside of the cards or are they left blank?

Answer: The standard wording on the inside of the card is “Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”. Or the cards may be left blank inside. However, the entire school must choose one or other of the two options.

 

What do you print on the back of cards?

Answer: The print on the reverse of the card is “designed by” then pupil name, school or organisation and a small link to our site.

 

Are cards supplied with envelopes?

Answer: Yes. All cards are supplied with quality white envelopes.

 

My child was absent when the artwork was posted to Cards for Schools Etc. Can we still submit artwork?

Answer: Possibly, you may email over a scanned image up until we print your order, however you will need to pay for the pack separately before we post the completed cards.

 

Can the school order re-prints?

Answer: Yes. However, the minimum order of 10 packs per school applies.

 

Do you accept children's artwork that is not on your template?

Answer: Yes, however artwork must be A4 or A5 portrait or landscape in style, for scanning and sizing purposes and must clearly state the name of the child and school on the sheet together with the number of packs required.

 

How much should the school charge the parents per pack of 12 cards?

Answer: We recommend £5.00 per pack, earning the school £1.25 per pack, your school may decide to set its own price if preferred.

 

Can card designs be submitted by friends or relatives of the children attending the named school?

Answer: Yes, however the school details will be printed on the reverse of the cards and artwork must be sent by and cards delivered to the named school.

 

Can the schools submit artwork for cards for any occasion?

Answer: Yes, we produce cards for occasions other than Christmas, but these cards have blank inners. We also produce programmes, leaflets and other printed items for schools.

 

How do we ensure the child's name is spelt correctly on the reverse of cards?

Answer: We ask that the school type a list of the children’s names and staple to the order form. We will check the list against the created cards before printing.

 

What drawing materials can the children use to create the artwork?

Answer: We recommend using felt tip and coloured pencils only, painted images are more prone to damage in the post and should be colour photo-copied or scanned and emailed separately.

 

What Remote area surcharges / postage costs will apply?

Answer: Remote area surcharges will be charged at cost and apply to your order (and re-orders, if applicable). Surcharges are dependent on quantities of samples and packs of cards ordered, therefore, no estimate can be given in advance for all the remote area variations. We will use the cheapest and/or the quickest delivery method possible for your area.
